Stephen Colbert Tries New Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino: ‘I Wish I Was Dead’

Starbucks’ new limited-edition drink, the Unicorn Frappuccino, debuted on April 19 and has been getting a lot of buzz ever since. Starbucks created the drink specifically for social media, and its plan worked. The Unicorn Frap has been all over Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, so Stephen Colbert decided to try it live on The Late Show and give his critique of the sugary masterpiece.

Before trying the Unicorn Frap, Colbert first went over the ingredients listed in the Starbucks press release. The ingredients include pink powder, a crème Frappuccino, mango syrup, and sour blue powder topping. These ingredients combine to create a color that Colbert described as “tumor.”

Then it came time for the moment of truth. Colbert tried the Unicorn Frap for the first and possibly only time live on the air, and his physical reaction wasn’t very telling as to the quality of the drink. But his words immediately after don’t really leave any room for interpretation.

“Oh. I wish I was dead,” Colbert joked. “Tastes like I French-kissed Tinker Bell.”

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
