Steelers Great Hines Ward Wants to Catch a Buyer for His Atlanta Mansion

After a stellar career in the NFL, former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is trying to run another play to sell his dream home.

Originally listed in 2012 for $7.5 million, the Atlanta mansion has resurfaced with an asking price of $5.99 million.

The eight-bedroom estate was completed in 2006, and Ward was quoted as saying his goal was to build something reminiscent of a W hotel. We can safely say No. 86 succeeded.

The Atlanta native and future Hall of Famer contributed to the design of the contemporary estate, reportedly adding ideas for dark-colored woodwork, a poker room, and other resortlike features to the eventual construction.

The 12,836-square-foot home sits on more than 2 acres of land and features eight bedrooms (including two master bedrooms) and 12 bathrooms.

The amazing interior features a modern kitchen, formal sitting areas, butler’s pantry, and theater room, along with elevator access to its two levels. The exterior boasts a resort-style pool and spa, kitchen, and grotto equipped with high-definition TVs and another spa for good measure.

Ward spent 14 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and holds team records for receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. A four-time Pro Bowler, the wide receiver helped the Steelers capture three AFC championships and two Super Bowl rings during his time in the black and yellow.

Ward retired from pro football in 2011 but hasn’t slowed down. He appears weekly during the football season on national television as a broadcaster with NBC, but fans also know him for waltzing away with the “Dancing With the Stars” mirror ball trophy in 2011.

Time will tell if he’s two-stepping his way to finally selling his dream home.
