‘Squid Game’ Video Game Set at Netflix, 2024 Slate Includes Sonic Mania Plus, Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit

A video game set in the world of “Squid Game” is coming to Netflix.

Per the description for the upcoming title, the game will let you “compete with other players in games from the hit series.”

More from Variety

The streamer announced the “Squid Game” game Wednesday, along with the release of its 2024 slate of games, including Sonic Mania Plus and sequel to hit life sim Cozy Grove, Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, which is made by Netflix internal studio Spry Fox. Additional new titles coming next year include FashionVerse, Game Dev Tycoon and a “Rebel Moon” game developed by Super Evil Megacorp that will take place following the events of Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix movies “Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire” and “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver.”

This is the most recent reveal from Netflix’s gaming division, following its November rollout of several in-the-works games.

“By year’s end, we’ll have 86 games available —all included with every Netflix membership without ads, in-app purchases or extra fees,” Netflix vice president of games Mike Verdu said in a blog post. “And with nearly 90 more games in development, we’re just getting started.”

Among those games are a trio of classic Grand Theft Auto games licensed from Rockstar Games, which as previously announced will launch Thursday on Netflix’s gaming offering via Apple’s App Store, Google Play and the Netflix mobile app.

The three classic titles in “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition” will be available for Netflix customers at no additional charge on mobile platforms. Starting Wednesday, Netflix members can preregister to play the games — “Grand Theft Auto III,” “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” and “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” — each updated for mobile.
