Who is sponsoring the RNC? A full guide to the financial backers

Correction: an earlier version of this story misstated Starbucks' involvement with the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee.

Organizers for the Republican National Convention raised more than $85 million in donations from companies, organizations, and individuals, surpassing their initial goal of $70 million.

Here's a snapshot of some of the convention's contributors:

Who is sponsoring the RNC?

While the RNC has received contributions from multiple organizations, a line-up of companies funded the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee, a nonpartisan and non-profit organization, according to the host committee's website. The group is a separate entity from the RNC and works with the City of Milwaukee to prepare for the convention, including signing the contracts and securing the venues.

Contributors to the Milwaukee 2024 Host Committee include the American Petroleum Institute, Turing Point USA, American Beverage Association, General Motors, America First Policy Institute, WinRed and American Conservation Coalition.

While Kohl's, a Wisconsin-based department store company, isn't contributing to the Hosting Committee, it is supporting the convention by donating to the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), which has financially supported the Host Committee, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Is the Heritage Foundation funding the RNC?

One of the RNC's key financial backers is the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank based in D.C. The Heritage Foundation is one of the groups behind Project 2025, a more than 900-page policy plan laying a roadmap for Trump's first months in office, aiming to dismantle and reconstruct the government.

Is Starbucks sponsoring the RNC?

While Starbucks has partnered with the Host Committee to provide free coffee and drinks to first responders onsite at the convention, it is not providing a cash contribution to the Host Committee or to the RNC.

The coffee franchise will also do the same for first responders at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago later this summer.
