Spike Lee's Vietnam War movie "Da 5 Bloods" took top honors Tuesday from the National Board of Review.

The Netflix film about Black veterans revisiting their complicated combat history was named best film and won best director for Lee and best ensemble for a cast that includes Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters, Chadwick Boseman, Jonathan Majors, Norm Lewis and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

The group also awarded Boseman, who died of colon cancer two months after the movie's release, the NBR Icon Award, calling him "an extraordinary talent who represented the best of what an actor could be no matter what the role.”

Other notable winners were "Sound of Metal," about a drummer who loses his hearing, which picked up best actor and supporting actor wins for Riz Ahmed and Paul Raci respectively, and the Korean-American drama "Minari," which earned supporting actress honors for Youn Yuh-jung and original screenplay for writer/director Lee Isaac Chung.

Carey Mulligan took best actress for the revenge drama "Promising Young Woman" and Sidney Flanigan won breakthrough performance for the abortion drama "Never Rarely Sometimes Always."
