The Sims 4 has all but confirmed that a horses expansion is coming next, following a number of leaks.
An increasing number of rumours have circulated over the past couple of weeks indicating that the next paid pack will be themed around horses, which would be a much-requested addition to the game.
On Tuesday (June 20), the official social media accounts for the franchise shared the latest roadmap, this time for June to September, titled "Take the Reins".
While two new Kits and a Behind The Sims stream were listed in this roadmap, the most eye-catching item was the promise of a "rootin' tootin' expansion".
A trailer for the expansion — with the description stating, "Giddy up for good news" — is set to debut this Thursday.
Not long after the roadmap was released, a fresh leak surfaced on Steam as a listing for "The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack" was briefly live before it was taken down (via SimsCommunity.info).
In the listing, the description and screenshots for the pack indicate that — in addition to horses — goats and sheep can be cared for on your ranch, while the new world includes an equestrian park, a Western-themed bar, and a dance hall.

The horses themselves can be customised and be trained in Agility and Jumping skills, and with a new Riding skill available for Sims.
Growing Together was the last full expansion, adding new features such as family dynamic and social compatibility, while this year has also seen the introduction of a new infants life stage and Kits focused on grunge fashion, greenhouses, and more.
News of the next expansion comes at a difficult period for the console version, with many PlayStation and Xbox players complaining of recent control changes.
The team behind the game has indicated that it is looking to address these issues, though no timeframe has been given on when an update should be expected.
The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
