Siblings missing from Sacramento County for 3 months found in Las Vegas; mom arrested

Two siblings reported missing from Sacramento County more than three months ago were found safe in Las Vegas and reunited with family, authorities said Tuesday, after the children were allegedly abducted by their biological mother for the second time since 2019.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 24 reported that an 8-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy were reported missing by family, last seen playing outside their apartment complex in the Vineyard area.

Both were located Friday with help from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. They have been safely reunited with their adoptive family.

The siblings’ biological mother, identified as 37-year-old Reychel Dizon of Sacramento County, was located and arrested in Las Vegas on two felony counts of child abduction, according to the news release. Authorities located Dizon after a 3 1/2-month investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Dizon remains in custody at the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada, according to online jail records. The Sheriff’s Office says she is being held with a no-bail warrant and will be extradited to Sacramento County.

The same two children were reported missing in an alleged parental abduction two years earlier in August 2019, the Sheriff’s Office said at the time, and in that instance were found unharmed the following night.

They were believed to have been taken by Dizon, who was not with the children when they were located in 2019; Dizon had been sought by law enforcement but was not found until this past weekend.
