Shopify partners with TikTok to help merchants with their marketing campaigns

Shopify partnered with TikTok to help its merchants create and run campaigns through the social media platform, according to a TikTok statement.

TikTok created a new channel for Shopify merchants to help them connect with new audiences through the video-sharing app's business functions.

Shopify merchants can install or connect with one click their TikTok Pixel, which allows businesses to track a user's behavior and encourages users to opt into an offer or make a purchase on the business' site.

Merchants can access the TikTok For Business Ads Manager from their Shopify dashboard. The new TikTok channel allows merchants to create campaigns, target audiences and track performance.

Eligible merchants can claim a $300 ad credit for their first TikTok campaign.

The channel is also providing Shopify merchants tools to create shareable ads through TikTok videos.

“We’re thrilled to be the first partner to welcome TikTok to the world of commerce, particularly right now, as our merchants prepare for a busy online holiday shopping season,” said Satish Kanwar, Vice President of Product at Shopify.

Over 88% of TikTok users said that they discover new content that they enjoy while using the app, and about half of users said they discover new products through advertisements posted by a product or brand, according to a Nielsen Authenticity Study commissioned by TikTok.

In June, Shopify also partnered with Walmart to take advantage of the digital spending surge during the coronavirus pandemic.
