Texas man vanishes in Grand Teton National Park, officials in Wyoming say

Officials are searching for a missing Texas man in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

Jared Hembree, 26, was last seen in the park on Oct. 21 near Game Warden Point in Moran, Wyoming, according to a release from the National Park Service.

Hembree is 5’9” tall and 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He’s believed to be wearing a green T-shirt and black pants, and had a black backpack, the release said.

Hembree’s vehicle was found unattended at Game Warden Point’s parking area in the eastern part of the park. Park officials first received a call expressing concern about Hembree after “an interaction with him outside the park’s eastern boundary,” the release said.

Efforts to find Hembree have included ground and aerial searches. Grand Teton National Park rangers, Teton County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and Teton County Search and Rescue are collaborating on the search. Officials have used a helicopter, a drone, and a fixed-wing airplane to conduct aerial searches. Search and rescue dog teams have also been sent out, the release said.

Park officials believe that anyone who has traveled in the area since Thursday may have seen Hembree. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Teton Interagency Dispatch Center at (307) 739-3301.
