Sask. drivers line up for gas after some pump prices rise

People were lining up at the Regina Cabs gas station on Friday.

According to GasBuddy.com, the discount gas station is one of several places in Saskatchewan where gas was still under 90 cents a litre Saturday morning.

Other stations in the city and elsewhere in the province are selling at nearly $1.03, and the price goes as high as $105.9 in Langenburg, Sask.

Some residents were not happy about the rise.

"The oil prices are still low and the gas is going up," James Lipp said. "I guess the gas stations have to make some money."

However, for others the increase was not yet a cause for worry.

"When it was $1.50 a litre, then it was quite concerning," Jared Babby said. "But it's been 90 cents for the last couple months, so it's no big deal.

GasBuddy.com shows a jump in the gas prices took place on Thursday and was continuing its upward trend on Saturday.

Jason Toews, a GasBuddy.com representative, previously told CBC News that the prices could drop a few cents into next week, but he expected the cost to increase overall until May.
