RTX appoints insider Phil Jasper as Raytheon president

54th Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport near Paris

(Reuters) - U.S. aerospace and defense company RTX said on Thursday industry veteran Phil Jasper will become president of its Raytheon unit after Wesley Kremer retires at the end of the first quarter.

Jasper, 55, will take charge as Raytheon, RTX's defense division, benefits from higher demand for its equipment due to the war in Ukraine.

RTX, which makes AMRAAM rockets used in Ukraine, has received $3 billion of orders since Russia's February 2022 invasion that are related to replenishing Ukraine and U.S. war stocks, and the company expects more, executives have said.

Jasper, who was named president of Collins Aerospace's Mission Systems in 2018, will report to Chief Operating Officer Christopher Calio.
