Red Bull X-Fighters 2014 World Tour on Four Continents

The 14th Season of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour Freestyle Motocross Returns in 2014 Across Four Continents

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - December 10, 2013) - The Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour is revving up for another epic season as Thomas Pagès (France) prepares to defend his championship title. A five-leg tour in 2014 will take the world's premier freestyle motocross competition to four continents. Over 200,000 spectators will witness the freestyle motocross elite in action. In addition to returning stops in Mexico City, Osaka, and Madrid, this year Red Bull X-Fighters brings the best in FMX to South Africa and Germany, where the sport and series have become extraordinarily popular. Last season, Pagès defeated Spain's Dany Torres for the world title in a series that saw four different winners in five stops.

Entering its 14th season, the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour will open the season in Mexico City (March 14) in the thin high altitude air before moving to Asia with a return stop in Osaka, Japan (May 25). The celebrated Las Ventas bullring in Madrid (June 27) will host the third stop before FMX riders and the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour returns to Munich, Germany (July 19). In a first-ever African World Tour final, the season will climax in Pretoria, South Africa (August 23).

Last year, Pagès clinched the championship title in Madrid with one of the best runs ever. Pagès took FMX to new heights with groundbreaking tricks, boosting up to 15 meters high and 30 meters in distance. Reflecting how close the world's FMX elite have become, the Frenchman was the fourth different World Tour champion in the last four years. Pagès was the epitome of consistency last season, stepping on the podium in all five events. While Pagès won two stops in 2013, Dany Torres (Spain), Rob Adelberg (Australia), and Taka Higashino (Japan) were close behind, proving that they will give Pagès a run for the title in 2014.
