Rakuten CEO Hiroshi Mikitani is one of the world’s most powerful advocates of affordable and accessible Internet and founder of Japan’s largest e-commerce site. Mikitani will join more of the best and brightest minds in media at IGNITION, Business Insider’s flagship annual event, to discuss leveraging the Internet as a viable means of innovation, growth, and economic prosperity.

Aside from leading one of the most formidable e-commerce sites in the world, Mikitani belongs to a political elite that advises the cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on enhancing Japan’s role in the global economy. As such, he maintains several vocal roles as a proponent for Internet access.

With Rakuten's latest acquisition of U.S.-based deal site, Ebates, Mikitani is now sitting on a net worth of $8.7 billion as estimated by Forbes.

Glean insights from Mikitani and more of the top minds disrupting the digital landscape this December 8-9 at IGNITION: The Future of Digital.
