** U.S. medical testing giant Quest Diagnostics Inc is in the final stages of negotiations to buy LifeLabs from the Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System (OMERS) for more than $1.3 billion.

** Contract talks between employers and the longshore union at British Colombia ports have reached an impasse, raising concerns about disruptions to Canada's supply chain.

** Three government contractors Coradix Technology Consulting, Dalian Enterprises and GCStrategies involved in developing the ArriveCan app have received hundreds of federal contracts worth more than $1 billion over the past 13 years.
