**Toronto will get C$471 million($353.07 million) under a federal housing agreement – the largest payment yet to a municipality from Ottawa’s Housing Accelerator Fund, which requires cities to loosen zoning rules that protect neighbourhoods dominated by single-family homes.

**Unions representing hundreds of thousands of Quebec public sector workers have threatened to start an open-ended strike in early 2024 if no deal is reached with the government before the new year.
