There’s no need to pack up the car and drive to Muskoka this summer — you can fly instead.

Starting June 27, Porter Airlines will be flying to the popular Ontario summer retreat in about 20 minutes. Flights will go out twice a week on Thursdays and Mondays from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Muskoka Airport.

"Muskoka is an inspiring destination that attracts travellers from near and far," said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines, in a news release.

"This new route serves as a great opportunity to link Muskoka to our North American network."

A standard flight leaving on June 27 and returning on July 1 is $94 dollars. A basic flight is $74. Seats are filling up fast.

While flying to Muskoka — travellers can see the iconic Algonquin Park and famous waterways like Georgian Bay below instead of bumper-to-bumper traffic on the highway.

"A new summer service between Toronto and Muskoka is great news for all Ontarians," said Michael Tibollo, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, in a news release.

Shuttle buses will be available to take passengers to their destination.

Porter will stop flying to Muskoka on September 3.
