The head of Japan's main steel industry lobby said on Tuesday the European Union's decision to extend anti-dumping measures on electrical steel from Japan was inappropriate and it would consider taking action. On Monday, the EU extended setting minimum prices for electrical steel from Japan, China, Russia, South Korea and the United States for five years on the basis that producers would otherwise dump it on the EU market.

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump plans to build 2,300 luxury homes at his Doral golf resort in the Miami area, part of a flurry of recent moves to revive a family business suffering from the one-two punch of a divisive presidency and coronavirus shutdowns. In a news release Monday, the 45th president called the plans for his sprawling Trump National Doral resort “perhaps the most exciting development in the country” but was short on details such as the size of the homes and what they may cost. The largest U.S. health insurer said members in its Medicare Advantage (MA) health plans, for people older than 65 or with disabilities, increased by more than 900,000 in 2021. The comments could ease investor concerns around the impact of rising competition on the MA insurance plans, which are funded by the U.S. government but administered by private insurers like UnitedHealth. Rival Humana Inc had slashed its 2022 growth view for MA plans earlier this month in a move that had sent shares in the sector lower.
MILAN (Reuters) -Prada sales bounced back sharply in 2021 as pent-up demand for luxury handbags and clothes helped push revenues above pre-pandemic levels, the Italian fashion group said. FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Emergency management officials on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota have a new building, but they have been operating out of an old jail that's set to be torn down. That's because the new building near a small airport doesn't have water and sewer connected, said Lislie Mesteth, who runs the Oglala Sioux Tribe's solid waste program. A new round of grant funding that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced Tuesday will make those connections
The Canadian dollar edged up against its broadly stronger U.S. counterpart on Tuesday as oil prices climbed to their highest level since 2014 and investors bet that the Bank of Canada would raise interest rates as soon as next week. The move higher in crude prices "is supporting some oil proxies in the FX space," said Bipan Rai, North America head of FX Strategy at CIBC Capital Markets. Canada is a major producer of oil, which settled 1.9% higher at $85.43 a barrel as possible supply disruption after attacks in the Middle East added to an already tight supply outlook.
