Panacea Entertainment’s Eric Gardner is Ready to Downsize

Panacea Entertainment honcho Eric Gardner has his discreet estate in the affluent, semi-rural community of Santa Rosa Valley, near Thousand Oaks, Calif., on the market with an asking price just shy of $2.5 million. Gardner — who started out as a tour coordinator for bands like the Grateful Dead and Kiss before shifting to artist management — purchased the gated, two-acre spread in 2000 for a little more than $1.1 million.

The nearly 8,200-square-foot mansion has six bedrooms and eight full bathrooms. A double-height foyer with a floating staircase has pale-blond hardwood flooring that extends into the formal dining room, which features a built-in aquarium. The massive great room along the rear of the house incorporates several sitting and dining areas, as well as a spacious center- island kitchen with all the culinary bells and whistles.

A separate media lounge has a fireplace and wet bar. There’s also an office/library whose walls are currently hung
with an impressive trove of gold and platinum records earned by Gardner’s big-name clients.

The area certainly offers more bang for the buck than city properties, with features including a vast covered patio with an outdoor kitchen that overlooks an oval swimming pool surrounded by stone terracing. The property is ideal for the suburban farmer: The park-like grounds offer a chicken coop, in addition to a playground and a gazebo, which is set on a peninsula that juts into a boulder-ringed, koi-stocked pond.

Gardner told this property gossip that he and his wife, Janis Gardner, who previously owned a stunning Mediterranean in L.A.’s Los Feliz area that they sold in 2000 for not quite $1.9 million, moved to the affluent suburban outskirts of L.A. in order to raise their three children in an environment with “a thinner veneer of insincerity.” Now that they’re empty-nesters, they’re on the prowl for something more manageably proportioned in the same area.
