Yahoo Finance Orlando Bloom Got a Tribute Tattoo for His Dog Who Just Passed Away
After searching for his dog for a week straight, Orlando Bloom said he put Mighty to rest and commemorated his pup with a new tattoo. Over the weekend, Bloom let fans and followers know that he, his family (including fiancé Katy Perry), and local dog search and rescue team Dog Days Search & Rescue were looking for the missing Mighty, who seemingly ran away from home. After the seventh day of searching, they found his collar, and Bloom knew Mighty had passed away.
“Mighty’s on the other side now,” Bloom captioned a July 21st Instagram post. “After 7 days of searching from sunrise to sunset and into the wee hours, today, the 7th day ~the number of completion~ we found his collar…”
In the post, Bloom showed his new memorial chest tattoo by artist Scott Campbell.
Mighty's name is inked in block letters above an ace of spades inside a heart. It's a delicate tattoo that looks like it could have been completed in single-needle style.
“I have wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing... I left no stone unturned, crawled thru all the man holes, under the roads, searched every back yard and creek bed," Bloom wrote about his search. "Had two separate sniffer dogs do their best as well."

The actor's Instagram caption then turned to a memorial and tribute to his "little Mighty man."
“I feel so grateful to have learned from my little Mighty man that love is eternal and the true meaning of devotion," he wrote. "I feel sure he was looking down on me whistling in every back yard and knowing that I was doing all I possibly could to respect our bond. He was more than a companion. It was a soul connection for sure. I’m sorry. I love you. Thank you. RIP my MIGHTY HEART my little fellow A ♠️’s.”
Bloom also thanked his community and neighbors for allowing him to search through their yards and supporting him on his midnight searches through the neighborhood.
“I don’t recall a time in my life where I’ve been so broken wide open,” Bloom wrote in a earlier Instagram post over the weekend. “The rawness I have felt over these past few days and sleepless nights at the idea of my little man being lost and scared, with me unable to do anything to protect him, is a waking nightmare. I feel powerless... maybe like so many others who are losing loved ones or unable to see our loved ones because of the times.”

He implored his followers to “cherish the moments we share with the ones we love because nothing is promised” and that we should never be afraid of love or the fear of losing love. “I am a devoted father & partner, still, there is a reason why they call them ‘man’s best friend,’” Bloom wrote. “I miss him.”
We send our condolences to Bloom and know that Mighty is wagging his tail at the love his dad has shown him throughout his entire life.
