Officials identify Sacramento man killed in shooting at South Land Park shopping center

Officials on Tuesday afternoon released the name of a man who was shot and killed Sunday night in front of a liquor store at a South Land Park shopping center in Sacramento.

Terence Raythail Lindsey, 43, of Sacramento was killed in front of the business in the 5900 block of South Land Park Drive, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

The fatal shooting occurred at the South Hills Shopping Center in front of Mike’s Liquor store. About 7:30 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the shopping center for a report of a shooting, the Sacramento Police Department said in a news release.

Officers attempted life-saving measures on the shooting victim. Medics with the Sacramento Fire Department pronounced Lindsey dead at the scene. Police said he had at least one gunshot wound.

Detectives and crime scene investigators took over the investigation and canvassed the area, looking for evidence and witnesses. The Police Department said no suspect information was available, and that the circumstances leading up to the shooting remained under investigation.
