Yahoo Finance Army calls news report 'false' but Rahul still tweets it & gets slammed on Twitter
Congress leader and Wayanad MP, Rahul Gandhi, is once again in the midst of a controversy after he tweeted a news report which the Indian Army has already called 'false', 'baseless' and 'riddled with inaccuracies'.
The Congress leader tweeted the report, published in an English business daily, which claimed that Indian soldiers have clashed with their Chinese counterparts in Eastern Ladakh.
The report also claimed that agreements with China with regard to disengagement in Eastern Ladakh region have 'collapsed'.

Slamming the article, the Indian Army put out an official statement, saying: 'The article is riddled with inaccuracies and misinformation. It is reiterated that the news report mentioning that agreements with China have collapsed is false and baseless.'
The Army statement further clarified that there has been no clash between the two sides since the disengagement agreement in February. 'Both sides have continued with negotiations to resolve the balance issues, and regular patrolling in respective areas continues. The situation on ground continues to be as hithertofore.'
The Bharatiya Janata Party too called out the report, alleging that it had been written to help propagate Rahul Gandhi's pet narrative on the China issue. Amit Malaviya, the BJP's IT cell head, tweeted that despite the Indian Army rebutting the 'bogus' story, Rahul Gandhi went ahead and posted it on his social media handle.
This #FakeStory, rebutted by the Indian Army, was done by Ajai Shukla, a retired Lt Col, with dubious antecedents, brother in law of Suman Dubey, a long time Gandhi family crony, accused in the national herald scam and on the board of RGF!

The indiscretion by the former Congress president has given ammunition to his detractors who are back to slamming him for 'disrespecting the army'.

The article published in Business Standard is written by Ajai Shukla who even earlier had been accused of peddling fake news many times.
The Indian Army had rejected this fake news before Rahul Gandhi had tweeted it but he still went ahead with his tweet. He doesn't trust the Army but an article written by a well know whatever.

The army statement also called the intent of the reporter 'malafide'.
