NCR Provides Interactive ATM Services to alizz islamic bank - Analyst Blog
NCR Corporation NCR is gaining newer opportunities due to the continuously changing concepts of traditional banking services. The company recently announced that alizz islamic bank – the newest full-fledged Islamic bank in Oman – has deployed its banking solutions.
The world’s leading consumer transaction technology provider stated that the bank has introduced NCR Interactive Teller machine at the Muscat Grand Mall. With this, alizz islamic bank has become first bank in the country to introduce this technology.
NCR Interactive Teller is an ATM-based technology that allows customers to complete their all branch banking tasks including cash deposit and withdrawal, transfer between accounts and check acceptance. Per NCR, customers can complete approximately 95% tasks, generally completed at a branch, through this technology.
With the addition of NCR’s Interactive Teller services, the bank will now be able to provide a complete range of core banking functions, thus strengthening its relationship with existing customers and while gaining new ones.
NCR’s years of contribution toward the financial services sector encouraged alizz islamic bank, a relatively new customer, to adopt its technology to serve its customers better.
We remain positive about NCR’s ATM footprint. According to a report published by Retail Banking Research, the company has been the world's largest and leading supplier of multi-vendor ATM middleware and applications for 25 consecutive years. We believe that NCR’s commitment to protect the trust and integrity of the ATM channel has inspired banks and other financial institutions to choose its services.
However, NCR has a highly leveraged balance sheet and generates minimal cash flows. The company had a long-term debt of $3.44 billion (debt to capitalization ratio of 64.5%) at the end of first-quarter 2015 and generated free cash flow of only $24 million during the quarter.
Going forward, competitors like Diebold Inc. DBD and International Business Machines Corp. IBM could create some pressure.
Currently, NCR has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). A better-ranked stock in the broader technology sector is Ambarella Inc. AMBA sporting a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
