Statement from Carolyn Callaghan, Wildlife Science & Policy Manager for the Canadian Wildlife Federation:

"2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Birds Convention between Canada and the United States. This was the first international treaty to conserve wildlife between the two countries and set the stage for many important advances in conservation. But despite these achievements, birds continue to decline. We must act now."

Statement from Michael Mesure, co-founder of FLAP Canada:

"We need to inspire greater action to protect our winged friends. FLAP Canada is thrilled to collaborate with the Canadian Wildlife Federation for Bird Impact Reduction Day April 12th to raise awareness of the problem of bird/building collisions and share information on how we can all help reverse this threat to our winged species."

About the Canadian Wildlife Federation:

By spreading knowledge of human impacts on the environment, sponsoring research, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, recommending legislative changes and co-operating with like-minded partners, CWF encourages a future in which Canadians can live in harmony with nature.
