Mylan jumps on Teva bid; HOG Slaughtered on Wall Street

Mylan
Shares of Mylan (MYL) jumped better 9% after an unsolicited takeover bid from Teva Pharmaceutical. The rival is offering to buy the generic drug maker for $40 billion in cash and stock. That's $82 a share and more than 20% above Mylan's Monday closing price. Just this year, Mylan acquired Abbott Laboratories's (ABT) non U-S operators. Mylan says it's not interested in making a deal.

Harley Davidson
Also Tuesday investors slaughtered the Wall Street HOG. Shares of Harley Davidson – ticker symbol (HOG) tumbled over 9% despite higher profits. The issue was its sales forecast, which the company lowered due to aggressive discounts offered by rivals. Harley-Davidson said it now expects motorcycle shipments to grow approximately 2% to 4% in 2015, down from its previous forecast of 4% to 6%.
Fortinet
Finally, the quest for the next growth stock has led investors to Fortinet (FTNT). Shares of the cyber security company surged over 9% on Tuesday after the company beat estimates citing 8,000 new customers during the quarter as a source of the strength. During the conference call its CEO said Fortinent had achieved its highest year-over-year ‘building growth’-- since becoming a public company five and half years ago.
