These Are The Most Commonly Shoplifted Items

Organized shoplifting affects 96 percent of retailers, according to the National Retail Federation.

They did a survey of 125 loss-prevention executives in May and found the most commonly-shoplifted items. Chronic shoplifters try to steal high-margin items they can put up for online auction, sell to pawn shops or return for a full refund.

Here are the items retailers reported were most commonly targeted:

-Cigarettes

-Energy drinks

-High-end liquor

-Infant formula

-Allergy medicine

-Diabetic testing strips

-Pain relievers

-Weight loss pills

-Electronic toothbrushes and replacement heads

-Lotions and creams

-Pregnancy tests
