Medicines Co. (MDCO) Reports Q2 Loss, Misses Revenue Estimates

Wall Street finished in the green reversing its five-day negative trend on Thursday following news that United States and China have ramped up their efforts to resolve lingering trade disputes

Medicines Co. (MDCO) just came out with a quarterly loss of $0.63 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $0.64. This compares to loss of $5.52 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 1.56%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this pharmaceutical company would post a loss of $0.71 per share when it actually produced a loss of $0.76, delivering a surprise of -7.04%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates two times.

Medicines Co.Which belongs to the Zacks Medical - Biomedical and Genetics industry, posted revenues of $1.67 million for the quarter ended June 2018, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 78%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $18.74 million. The company has not been able to beat consensus revenue estimates over the last four quarters.
