MCM Taps Michael Kors Alum Sarika Rastogi as Head of Marketing and Communications

Sarika Rastogi has been named head of marketing and communications at MCM, the German accessories and ready-to-wear company. She succeeds Dan Manicoi, who left the company.

Most recently, Rastogi had her own consulting company working on PR, communications and branding strategies for companies such as Aeffe, Bloomingdale’s, Matches Fashion and Blazé Milano, among others. Earlier, she was senior director of communications at Michel Kors, and prior to that held a similar role at Tod’s.

Rastogi’s appointment comes as MCM recently unveiled a new brand identity, featuring an enhanced design language, consumer experience and lifestyle presentation for the 21st century digital nomad [the new world of consumer who is global and technology-focused].

The new strategy positions MCM as a digitally driven and sustainable luxury brand, and transforms the portfolio into a new, full lifestyle assortment of ready-to-wear and accessories.

Sabine Brunner, president of MCM Global AG, said, “The appointment [of Rastogi] is an exciting addition to our team and is integral to the next chapter of growth for the MCM business. With her luxury expertise, Sarika is a natural choice for her role in our house to support the conversation surrounding MCM’s evolving brand heritage and the development of MCM’s innate digital-nomad lifestyle.”

Rastogi will be based in New York.

MCM, which was founded in 1976, is currently distributed in 650 stores in 40 countries around the world.
