Maya Rudolph narrates culinary quests in Eater's Guide to the World trailer

Hulu's 'Eater's Guide to the World' exclusive trailer

Watch the exclusive trailer for the new Hulu series 'Eater's Guide to the World,' narrated by Maya Rudolph.

As if we needed another reason to thank the inimitable Maya Rudolph for her service, she is now using her silky voice, as soothing as a bubble bath, to narrate some culinary quests.

In the exclusive trailer for Hulu’s new unscripted series Eater’s Guide to the World, the Emmy-winning Big Mouth voice actress gives an aural tour of places and plates, “from the sizzling sounds of a juicy pork belly taco on the plancha in Tijuana to the laughter that fills a late night diner in NYC after a drag show,” says executive producer Lauren Cynamon. “It’s a locals’ guide to the dining rooms, street corners, and parking lots around the world where you can score an amazing meal.”

As the first TV series Eater has made for a streaming service, the show is a natural extension of what the digital publication offers through its popular maps and guides that are locally curated to best represent a city and its community. "Eater’s Guide to the World reflects our core editorial mission, which is to give locals a voice,” explains Amanda Kludt, editor-in-chief of Eater. “This show is all about showing off local obsessions, cuisine, and culture through the eyes of those who’ve built and know and love their cities. It's surprising and delightful and exhibits the sense of fun and wonder that we are known for."

While the show was filmed in a pre-COVID world, viewers may be surprised to see how the restaurants and vendors featured still manage to factor into how we eat today. However, given the devastating hardships the restaurant industry faces, the show will direct the audience to Eater.com at the beginning of each episode if they want to find more information on how to help.
