Marc Anthony Flips Tarzana Mini-Manse Back on Market

SELLER: Marc Anthony
LOCATION: Tarzana, Calif.
PRICE: $4.35 million
SIZE: 6,500 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: American-born Latin salsa superstar Marc Anthony has clearly caught a serious case of the Celebrity Real Estate Fickle and hoisted a basically brand new, white clapboard-sided and black shuttered quasi-Colonial mini-mansion in the hot as Hades L.A. suburb of Tarzana, Calif., up for sale at $4.35 million. Avid celebrity real estate watchers will recall seven-time Latin Grammy winner and his new third wife, Venezuelan model-beauty blogger Shannon de Lima, only purchased the property a tetch more than seven months ago for $4.125 million.

Current listing details show the pie slice-shaped parcel spans 0.53 acres and the residence, perched on high knoll that makes the front façcade entirely visible from the street, measures in at around 6,500 square feet with five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms plus an four-car garage that just about smacks a person across the face as you come up the gated driveway. Just off the central foyer there’s a coffer ceiled combination living/dining room that inelegantly overlooks the paver-tiled motor court at the front of the L-shaped residence and less formal family quarters include a den/library with curved wet bar and a roomy family room with stacked stone fireplace flanked by glass-doored display shelves and French door-style sliding glass doors that open to the backyard. The family room is open to the gleaming, all-white kitchen that features an informal dining area, two gigantic work islands — one with integrated snack counter, slab marble countertops, snazzy herringbone pattern marble backsplashes, and, of course, high-quality commercial-style stainless-steel appliances.

At the top of the stairs an oversized landing doubles as a sitting room and four family bedrooms are joined by a master suite with vaulted ceiling, private city lights view terrace, marble bathroom with herringbone pattern marble tile floor, and a walk-in closet with built-in dressers and glass-fronted wardrobes that current listings somewhat curiously describe as “delicate glass vitrines.” Back downstairs the family room opens to a covered patio that overlooks the landscaped backyard composed of a wee patch of lawn, an angled bar with built-in barbecue and under-counter beverage fridge, a crystalline swimming pool with sunbathing shelf and inset spa and, set above the pool on the slope at the rear of the property, a gazebo with an over-the-rooftop view of the San Fernando Valley.

Mister Anthony, who recently announced the launch of a Miami-based entertainment company called Magnus Media, previously and briefly owned another, similarly sized mock-Med style mini-mansion in a small gated enclave in the neighboring community of Encino that he picked up in April 2013 for $2.225 million, originally listed in late 2014 for $2.75 million and sold in April 2015 for $2.425 million to seven-foot-tall professional basketball player JaVale McGee. The swivel-hipped Latin-pop king continues to own a eight-plus acre compound in the fancy-pants Long Island community of Brookville, N.Y. — an estate he shared with both his first and second wives, former beauty queen Dayanara Torres and veteran showbiz cynosure Jennifer Lopez — that he set out for sale at the beginning of the year with an optimistic $12 million pricetag that’s been chopped down to its current $9.495 million asking price.
