Man arrested with gun allegedly stolen from Canadian Tire
Police say a shirtless man was carrying a camping chair bag with a long gun stolen from the Walker Road Canadian Tire store inside was arrested Sunday.
The arrest was made at 9:30 a.m. downtown, near Elliott Street W. and Victoria Avenue.
A patrol officer noticed the man walking down the street carrying a red camping chair style bag with a shirt wrapped around an object sticking out the end of the bag. The officer thought it looked like a silhouette of a rifle stock and believed a long gun was in the bag.
An investigation found the gun was reported stolen during a break-and-enter at the Canadian Tire on Walker Road last week.
A 32-year-old Windsor man is charged with:
- Carrying a concealed weapon.
- Possession of a firearm without holding a licence.
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
