Logitech’s G933 Artemis Spectrum Snow is one of the best all-around gaming headsets

Logitech launched one of the best wireless gaming headsets last year with its G933 Artemis Spectrum. A year on, the company is updating that device with a new color while competitors introduce a number of improvements.

But despite Astro, Razer, and Turtle Beach introducing some really smart new features to the market, Logitech may still have one of the best all-around wireless headsets that can also give you excellent results on consoles and more.
What you’ll like
Incredible audio
The first thing that should hit you about the G933 is the incredible audio. Lows, mids, and highs — this headset can handle it all. I appreciate how thunderous the bass can get in the Logitech headset without the quality taking a nose dive like it does in some other headsets. As you turn up the volume, the audio doesn’t just get louder — it also gets larger. Rhythm instruments take on a lifelike quality where it almost feels like you’re laying on a mattress made of standup basses.
This all translates to gaming well. Even as the G933 sends tremors through your brain during explosions, the mid- and high-range noises can still cut through that in bursts of stunning clarity. This means I was able to handle a full, realistic soundscape without the 40mm drivers losing any of the detail. In hectic games like a first-person shooter, that makes for a great experience.
High-end design
While the G933 Snow is similar to last year’s model, Logitech did give it an attractive new white color that makes it really stand out as an elegant peripheral. The styling is most comparable to a stormtrooper from Star Wars. It has that hard, plasticy look that I find really appealing. But that’s only one part of the smart design.
Even if it’s not the lightest headset, the device is comfortable. And since it doesn’t have wires, you can often forget you’re wearing it.
Logitech has also thought of just about everything else as well. You can connect a 3.5mm cable to use the headset on anything with a standard jack or when the batteries go out. The wireless dongle that you need to use the headset on your PC fits right behind a side panel of one of the earcups. And the microphone collapses up into an earcup as well to a point where it almost completely disappears.
It’s all smart and useful stuff — almost like Logitech hired people who actually use gaming headsets to make this one.
Multiplatform compatibility
My favorite part of the G933 is that it can really serve as your one and only headset for every situation. It’s great as a wireless PC headset, but nothing prevents you from plugging in the 3.5mm cable so you can use it with you PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 or your Xbox One controller. I plug into my phone to listen to music and podcasts.
You can even turn the headset on and get the benefit of the built-in power to give the audio a broader body. You don’t get the surround sound like you do on the PC, but the audio still sound great overall.
What you won’t like
Weak battery life
The only real issue with the G933 is that its battery doesn’t last quite as long as some other wireless headsets. You’ll get 15 to 24 hours from competitors like Razer, Astro, and Plantronics. Logitech is only promising 12 hours. If you really rock the volume or use the Spectrum lighting, you’ll end up with a lot less than that.
Conclusion
For $200, I don’t know if you can get a better all-around gaming headset. The G933 can handle gaming easily. Its built-in mic is really clear, so you’re going to have no problem communicating. But it can also break away from your computer to work well with consoles or a smartphone. I love rocking out in my car to My Morning Jacket while wearing G933. I can even take a call using the headset. It just easily handles any situation you throw at it, which I think makes it an incredible value for the price.
