The man synonymous with winning Stanley Cups over the last two seasons has made his latest free-agent decision.

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Thursday that they have retained forward Patrick Maroon on a two-year deal worth a total of $1.8 million.

Maroon signed on with the Lightning in free agency following his title-winning campaign with the St. Louis Blues in 2019. He scored nine goals and racked up 23 points in 64 regular-season games, serving primarily from a fourth-line function.

He chipped in with a goal and six points in 25 postseason games before celebrating accordingly.

Tampa Bay also brought back defender Luke Schenn on a one-year contract worth $800K. Mainly a depth piece, Schenn appeared in only 11 postseason games, and had two assists.
