Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job sites, recently launched a new online class, “How to Get a Job: A Step-by-Step Guide,” to help job seekers learn the best way to look, write the perfect resume and cover letter, stand out in an interview, negotiate pay and more.
So, what are some of the tips?
• Customize your resume for each job you apply for. Be sure to include skills that are relevant to the particular job.
• Use your cover letter to describe yourself and explain why you are a good fit for the job. It shouldn’t re-list items on your resume—it should complement it.
Thank-you notes are still a thing! Be sure to send one, via email or snail-mail. Be timely and reiterate your interest.
