Krispy Kreme Hatches 4 New Pastel-Colored Mini Doughnuts in Time for Easter

And one of them is topped with a pair of Cadbury eggs.

Krispy Kreme

No one likes celebrating upcoming holidays or the change of seasons like Krispy Kreme. In the past two months, the Charlotte, North Carolina-based doughnut chain has released red heart-shaped doughnuts for Valentine’s Day, tiny little footballs for the Super Bowl, and it covered its iconic Original Glazed doughnuts in green icing to commemorate St. Patrick’s Day over the weekend.

Now it’s welcoming spring — a season that officially began on Tuesday, March 19 — by revealing four new limited-edition mini-doughnuts. The four doughnuts all feature soft pastel icing or pastel sprinkles, or both.

The new menu additions include a Hatching Chick Doughnut that has been iced to look like — you guessed it — a little yellow chick that’s just cracked its way out of an egg; a Mini Birds Nest Doughnut that tops an Original Glazed doughnut with chocolate buttercream icing, sprinkles, and a pair of Cadbury mini-eggs; a Robin’s Egg doughnut that has been dipped in teal icing and covered with crunchy daisy sprinkles; and a Strawberry Egg Doughnut that has a combination of strawberry icing and yellow and teal icing drizzles, giving it the look of a perfectly decorated Easter egg.

“We’re excited to help our fans ‘hatch happy’ with these all-new Spring Minis – from the first day of Spring through Easter Sunday,” Dave Skena, the global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a statement. “These bright, beautiful doughnuts are sweet treats for celebrating the season with family and friends.”

Krispy Kreme’s new Spring Minis are available to order in-store at Krispy Kreme locations and can be ordered ahead for pickup or delivery through the Krispy Kreme app and website. Some supermarkets will also have a limited-edition eight-pack containing the Hatching Chick Doughnut, Robin’s Egg Doughnut, Strawberry Egg Doughnut, and Original Glazed Doughnuts. (You can visit Krispy Kreme’s website to find your closest Krispy Kreme store or a participating supermarket location.)

If you’re craving doughnuts today — and who isn’t?— there’s still time to jump on Krispy Kreme’s International Day of Happiness deal. In honor of the very real holiday, which was celebrated on Wednesday, March 20, Krispy Kreme is offering one dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $2 when you buy either another dozen doughnuts or a 16-pack of assorted minis. But act fast, because that $2 dozen is only available through Thursday, March 21.

As Skena mentioned above, the Spring Minis Collection will be only available through Easter, which falls on Sunday, March 31 this year. After that, there’s surely another holiday for Krispy Kreme to celebrate. Can we suggest some leaf-shaped doughnuts for Arbor Day?
