Jordan Spieth, Hillary and veggie balls: What a week ahead!

Millions of viewers are expected to be watching CBS (CBS) Sunday afternoon as the 79th Masters golf tournament wraps up at Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia. And Yahoo Finance’s Phil Pearlman believes if first-round leader Jordan Spieth continues his torrid pace and wins, the 21-year-old from Dallas will likely turn the golf world on its head.

“First off, a star is born,” he says. “He’d be the youngest to win it since Tiger Woods in ’97. Second of all, the Under Armour (UA)-Nike (NKE) thing."

Pearlman points out Spieth signed a 10-year endorsement extension with Under Armour earlier this year, which he thinks may be part of a dynamic shift in the sports apparel industry away from the long-time leader with the swoosh logo. And if Spieth stays hot, expect Under Armour stock to do so, too.

“If I was a trader, and I’m not, I’d be watching Friday,” he notes. “If he has a big lead, Under Armour next week-- bullish.”

Also on Sunday, Hillary Clinton is expected to announce via Twitter (TWTR) that she is running for President in 2016. Democrat Clinton would join two Republicans-- Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul-- to officially jump into the race.

Yahoo Finance’s Jen Rogers is happy that we will finally be able to put the months of media speculation about Clinton behind us.

“As the New York Times called it with Hillary, it’s the ‘prolonged prologue,’” she sighs.   “At least it’s coming to an end.”

Rogers notes Florida GOP Senator Marco Rubio is scheduled to throw his hat in the ring later next week as well.

Also next week, Yahoo Finance’s Aaron Task is likely to be heading to Ikea as the company introduces a twist on its famous Swedish meatballs-- the meatless veggie ball. Task thinks this move by a well-known, traditional furniture retailer is actually a landmark for the food world.

“One of the reasons you go to the store is to go to the cafeteria to have the meatballs,” he says. “And they’re coming out with a veggie version which shows you this has gone mainstream-- it’s not just on the coast or liberal enclaves. People want to eat vegetarian.”

Task adds Ikea clearly feels offering the veggie ball is a good move for its bottom line.

“Their food business is a $1 billion business,” he points out. “The fact that they’re doing veggies is a big deal. This is not small potatoes-- bad pun intended.”
