"It feels very good to win, I'm glad that the Atlantis put it on for us," said Miner after his win. "I'm very excited to make a good showing for the hometown. It was a tough field, everybody played very well and it was definitely challenging, but I felt very confident most of the time."

When asked if he had a plan for the money Miner joked, "Yeah, give it to my wife. I'll probably also play some more poker and try to win some more tournaments."

Notable players who took part in the event included former world champion Jerry Yang, Steve Brecher, David Randall, Charles "Woody" Moore and Howard "Tahoe" Andrew.
