"When she learns that the Jewish ghetto is about to be liquidated, she is determined to save the lives of the 12 Jewish workers by sheltering them in the safest place she can think of - the basement of the German Major's house. Over the next eight months, Irena uses her wit, instinct, charm, and immense courage to keep her friends hidden for as long as possible," a synopsis explains.

Nélisse stars alongside Dougray Scott in the Louise Archambault directed project, hitting theaters for a limited release on April 15 and April 16.

"I like to joke around. I like to keep it light. Obviously, it was very easy to tap into the heavy material because we were surrounded by all of this decor, by the sets, by the Holocaust symbols, the swastikas, and everything, and so we felt completely immersed and so it was very easy for me to tap into the gravity of it all and to just feel scared and terrified, sad, all these emotions," she told the outlet in September 2023.

Fathom Events will release Irena's Vow in theaters April 15 and April 16 for one day only on behalf of Quiver Distribution.
