Have Insiders Been Buying Adventus Mining Corporation (CVE:ADZN) Shares?

We've lost count of how many times insiders have accumulated shares in a company that goes on to improve markedly. On the other hand, we'd be remiss not to mention that insider sales have been known to precede tough periods for a business. So before you buy or sell Adventus Mining Corporation (CVE:ADZN), you may well want to know whether insiders have been buying or selling.

What Is Insider Buying?

Most investors know that it is quite permissible for company leaders, such as directors of the board, to buy and sell stock in the company. However, rules govern insider transactions, and certain disclosures are required.

We would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing. But equally, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether. For example, a Harvard University study found that 'insider purchases earn abnormal returns of more than 6% per year'.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Adventus Mining

The President, Christian Kargl-Simard, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for CA$92k worth of shares at a price of CA$1.28 each. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is CA$0.94. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels. The only individual insider seller over the last year was Christian Kargl-Simard.

In the last twelve months insiders purchased 118.25k shares for CA$103k. But they sold 72.20k shares for CA$92k. In total, Adventus Mining insiders bought more than they sold over the last year.
