Inside Hearst Corp.'s reported bid for Time Inc. assets

Stocks (^DJI, ^GSPC, ^IXIC) are mixed at the midday mark, though the Dow and S&P 500 managed to eke out new all-time highs. The real estate sector (XLRE) is again the most in the green, with health care (XLV) the most in the red. Jonathan Corpina of Meridian Equity Partners joins us live from the New York Stock Exchange.

Starbucks’ future: Roastery, Tasting Rooms, Reserve Bars

Starbucks today is holding an investor meeting in New York that Yahoo Finance is streaming live. This comes after last week’s news that Howard Schultz will step down as CEO in April to oversee 1,000 Starbucks “Reserve” brand stores and 30 Reserve Roastery and Tasting Rooms.

Another bid for Time Inc. assets

Let’s switch industries and talk magazine publishing and Time Inc. Hearst Corporation is reportedly interested in buying some of Time Inc.’s magazines, including Real Simple, InStyle and Cooking Light. The New York Post says there have been high-level discussions at Hearst, but no approach to Time Inc.

Top places to work in 2017

Glassdoor is out with its latest list of the best places to work. Bain Capital takes the top spot. With Facebook and Boston Consulting coming in at 2 and 3, and Alphabet and World Wide Consulting rounding out the top 5.
