IBM (IBM) Dips More Than Broader Markets: What You Should Know

IBM (IBM) closed at $119.12 in the latest trading session, marking a -1.86% move from the prior day. This change lagged the S&P 500's daily loss of 0.78%. Meanwhile, the Dow lost 0.41%, and the Nasdaq, a tech-heavy index, lost 0.97%.

IBM will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release. On that day, IBM is projected to report earnings of $2.14 per share, which would represent a year-over-year decline of 32.49%. Meanwhile, the Zacks Consensus Estimate for revenue is projecting net sales of $17.72 billion, down 7.52% from the year-ago period.

IBM's full-year Zacks Consensus Estimates are calling for earnings of $11.29 per share and revenue of $72.98 billion. These results would represent year-over-year changes of -11.87% and -5.4%, respectively.
