Google guns for Amazon

Specifically, Google is entering the cloud computing business. The company best known for search pioneered the monetization of ads and is now looking for its next big revenue stream. It just hired Diane Greene, already a Google director, to head a new division that includes cloud computing and Google Apps. How much of a game changer could this be for Google and the cloud industry in general?

Citigroup alleged to facilitate money laundering

Big bank bad behavior is back in the spotlight, and it's Citigroup this time. According to Bloomberg, regulators are saying the bank turned a blind eye to some very suspicious activity involving violent Mexican drug cartels. We saw HSBC and Wachovia, now part of Wells Fargo, reprimanded for money laundering violations. Is it simply part of the culture of big banks to turn a blind eye when huge sums of money are in sight?

Wealth gap affects where we live

The wealth gap is a hotly debated topic, especially leading up to next year's presidential race. Findings by real-estate brokerage Redfin highlight the increasing disparity in American cities.
