Germany's Diehl to further expand production of IRIS-T air defence systems
BERLIN (Reuters) - German arms maker Diehl plans to further expand production of the IRIS-T air defence system, its CEO Helmut Rauch told reporters at the ILA air show in Berlin on Thursday.
Diehl now wants to produce at least ten firing units from 2026 and to double production of the IRIS-T medium-range missiles from 2025, Rauch said.
This is the second time in nine months for the firm to announce a IRIS-T production ramp-up as Germany continues to increase its defence capabilities amidst heightened threats from Russia while it continues to make advances in Ukraine.
