Republicans challenge more than 63,000 voters in Georgia, but few removed, AP finds
From Georgia's mountains to its Atlantic shore, challenges to the qualifications of voters have rolled in this summer and fall, part of a wide-ranging national effort coordinated by Donald Trump’s allies to enlist Republican activists to remove people they view as suspect from the voting rolls. Thus far, barely 1% of people called into question have been removed from the rolls or placed into challenged status, mostly because counties are disregarding challenges. The Associated Press finds more than 63,000 Georgians have been challenged since July 1, when a law that could make it easier to uphold challenges partially took effect.

The son of a South Carolina inmate urges the governor to save his father from execution
Richard Moore never meant to kill anyone the night he robbed a South Carolina convenience store and the Black man was convicted by a jury with no African Americans, his son and lawyers say as they fight to save the inmate from execution next month. Moore went unarmed into a Spartanburg County store to rob it in 1999, took a gun from a clerk when it was pointed at him and fatally shot the clerk in the chest as the two struggled. The inmate's son, Lyndall Moore, said his father is now the only prisoner left on the state's death row convicted by a jury without any Black people.

JPMorgan Chase, the largest U.S. lender, plans to enter Kenya and Ivory Coast this year and grow its footprint in Africa, CEO Jamie Dimon told Reuters. International markets are a growth area for JPMorgan, which has more than $4.2 trillion in assets and operates in over 100 countries. "We want to add a country or two (enter or deepen presence) in Africa, every couple of years or so," Dimon said by phone from New York on Friday before departing on a trip to Africa.

Indonesia's Prabowo briefs potential ministers on economy, geopolitics
Indonesia's incoming leader Prabowo Subianto was briefing his would-be ministers on Wednesday on economy and geopolitical issues ahead of his Sunday inauguration, his spokesperson said, as his cabinet assessments continue. Prabowo this week summoned dozens of people who said they had been asked to join the next government, including current finance minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati. Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, Prabowo's spokesperson, said on news channel Kompas TV that the briefing was intended for "the ministers to build a mutual understanding with Prabowo."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was set to at least partially unveil a plan to win the war against Russia to his country's Parliament on Wednesday after weeks of dropping hints about the blueprint to lukewarm Western allies, including U.S. President Joe Biden. The plan — comprising military, political, diplomatic and economic elements — is considered by many as Ukraine’s last resort to strengthen its hand in any future cease-fire negotiations with Russia.
