Facebook makes changes, Alibaba breaks records, Apple makes a deal with Amazon

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team is watching for you today.

Facebook is implementing a major change when it comes to sexual harassment allegations. The social networking giant will stop requiring workers to settle claims in private arbitration. The move comes right after Google ended the same practice after employee pressure and protests. Facebook also overhauled its policy on office relationships, now upper management must disclose if they are dating someone in the company.

It’s a record day for Alibaba. The Chinese e-Commerce Giant pulled in $30.8 Billion during its 24-hour sales event known as Singles Day. The company sold $10 Billion worth of goods, one hour into the event. The most ordered item, Apple’s iPhone.

The two most valuable tech companies are teaming up. Amazon plans to start selling the most recent Apple iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and other accessories on its website. People in the US, and seven other countries, will be able to buy products right away through Amazon. There’s just one exception, you won’t find Apple’s HomePod, which is a direct competitor to Amazon’s Echo brand of home speakers.

EBay wants to help you with items that need some assembly required. You can now hire someone to set up and install an item after you buy it, in a partnership with Handy, InstallerNet, and Porch, according to The Verge. You can choose a window of time that works for you, eligible items range from televisions and furniture to exercise equipment.

Microsoft’s Xbox One is making it easier to play one of the most popular games on the planet. The console is getting Keyboard and Mouse support starting November 14th. It’ll only be compatible with a small number of games, but one of the first ones is the major hit ‘Fortnite‘.
