Exterior Design and Dimensions
Exterior Design and Dimensions Rating:
When it comes to the Mazda 6’s appearance, it’s easy to sum it up simply as a great-looking car. Mazda’s Kodo design language imbues the front-wheel-drive 6 with nearly rear-wheel-drive proportions, thanks to the long, prominent hood and the flowing body-side creases defining the front and rear fenders.
What’s New for 2018?
The Mazda 6’s exterior has evolved nicely since it first debuted several years ago, but the 2018 version is the best interpretation yet. While its overall shape is the same as before, Mazda designers have incorporated elements from the delicious Vision Coupe concept. This includes its smoothed front end and slimmed-down LED headlights that flank a larger front grille surrounded by chrome. There are also new 17- and 19-inch wheel designs that complement the newly available Soul Red Crystal paint.

Only the base Sport rides on humble 17-inch aluminum wheels; every other 6 has 19-inch rims. Across the lineup, LED running lamps, LED taillights, and that big, bold pentagonal grille are standard fare.
