Explore the Desert with R&T this NovemberRoad & Track

Arizona is a diverse state overflowing with duality: the juxtaposition between the rugged terrain and luxurious locales, its vast desert and cultured cities, the equal opportunity for adventure and relaxation. One certain thing is that it’s also the ultimate road trip destination. For the first time, Road & Track will be hosting an unforgettable getaway in the Grand Canyon State: Arizona Desert Run, taking place November 12-15, 2024.

Our editors have curated a bespoke route through Arizona featuring the very best drives. We can’t wait to head out for gorgeous group drives through the breathtaking Arizona red rocks—plus we'll be making exciting pit stops along the way including a track day, a walking tour of the Grand Canyon, and stays at spectacular resorts and stylish boutique hotels.

The trip will kick off in true Road & Track fashion—with a track day at Radford Racing School. Not only will guests track their vehicles on the 15-turn, 1.6-mile course, but also engage in high-speed ride-alongs with editors, enjoy a trackside lunch in the Road & Track Clubhouse, and compete in a timed autocross competition for an Arizona Desert Run Award. From there, we'll head out on our first group drive of the trip to Paradise Valley, where we’ll check in to the sprawling Sanctuary Camelback Mountain resort. After settling in and exploring the grounds, our group will celebrate the end of a thrilling first day with cocktails and dinner on-site.

Day two will begin with a leisurely breakfast at the resort, followed by a group drive to Sedona, chock-full of stunning views of Arizona’s vibrant red rock canyons. We’ll break for a quick lunch, then keep rallying toward Sedona. Once we’ve arrived, rally guests will check into Enchantment Resort, nestled between the majestic walls of Boynton Canyon, and take advantage of the expansive property with outdoor activities including hiking and mountain biking. Or, they can head to the spa or gym if that’s more their speed. Rounding out the day will be a group dinner at the resort before we kick up our feet and settle in for the night.

On day three, the group will head to one of Arizona’s most famous sites—the Grand Canyon. After checking out of Enchantment Resort, attendees will form their driving groups again and rally to the Grand Canyon. We’ll cruise through the canyon before embarking on a guided walking tour. We couldn’t come all this way to not bask in the Grand Canyon’s natural beauty. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch al fresco, then continue on our journey, ending in the charming town of Flagstaff. Night three’s digs will be the effortlessly cool High Country Motor Lodge—an upscale, modern take on the classic motor lodge. There, we’ll gather for a group dinner where Road & Track editors will present the first-ever Arizona Desert Run Awards—including the results of the timed autocross challenge from our track day.

Day four will be the final day of our Arizonan adventure. Guests will fuel up with breakfast at High Country Motor Lodge and gear up for one final spirited drive. As our rally comes to a close, our editor hosts will give closing remarks and attendees will go their separate ways, reminiscing on the new memories made over the past four days.

Arizona Desert Run is a once-in-a-lifetime road trip showcasing the very best the Southwest has to offer. It’s sure to be a trip to remember—complete with bucket-list drives, unforgettable excursions, luxe accommodations, and countless opportunities to connect with Road & Track editors, special guests, and fellow enthusiasts. Applications are open and spots are limited, so apply now while there is still availability.
