Ex-Scotiabank, BBVA exec to chair Banamex board after Citi splits unit

MEXICO CITY, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Ignacio Deschamps, a former executive at Scotiabank and BBVA, will chair the boards of the Grupo Financiero Banamex and the Banco Nacional de Mexico (Banamex) after the split between Citi's retail and corporate and investment businesses in the country is complete, Citi's Mexico unit said on Thursday.

Citigroup is working to split the retail unit, known as Banamex, from the corporate and investment banking business by the second half of 2024. (Reporting by Kylie Madry; Editing by Sarah Morland)
