When was Emily in Paris season 2 confirmed?
On November 11th 2020, Netflix and Lily revealed the show would be returning for a second season. "Deux is better than un," Lily tweeted. "I’m freaking out and beyond thrilled (much to Sylvie’s dismay) to announce #EmilyinParis will be returning to @netflix for Season 2! Thank you guys for the love and support and I hope you’re as excited as we are!!"
It's hardly surprising, as it went down a treat on the streaming platform and Darren Star seemed pretty confident it would return. "In season 2, she's going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she's living in. She'll be more of a resident of the city," Star previously told OprahMag.com. "She'll have her feet on the ground a little more. She's making a life there."

And he wasn't the only one who was keen as Lily told Vanity Fair: "I would love nothing more than to be able to go back to Paris and do [a new season].
"There were so many situations that we were like, 'Okay, write that down. That’s going to happen in season two. Also, there were many experiences where we were like, ‘Does Emily go abroad? Do you think Emily takes the Eurostar and hops out and goes to Belgium or she goes to London?' That would be so much fun...I’m like, ‘Darren [Star], there are so many opportunities to just travel internationally when you’re here.'"
When was Emily in Paris season 2 filmed?
The cast confirmed that season 2 officially started filming on 3 May 2021, with this adorable post on Instagram.
The post also seems to confirm that a lot of the main cast from season 1 will be back for the second instalment, including Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold and Camille Razat. Great news. And if all that wasn't enough, we got our first actual look at season 2 in some brand new behind the scenes pictures. "Being in Paris with my family and with this cast and crew over the last 4 months and on set for 67 days has been the most memorable experience and I will cherish every second of it. Grateful for this team and all of the joy and smiles they bring to work each day. You make it magical. I can’t wait for you guys to see what we have in store for round two. Á bientôt! Bisous!…"
What could happen in Emily in Paris season 2?
Firstly, you might want to look away now if you haven't finished the first season. If we still have you, you'll be pleased to know that the possible plot for season 2 is just as juicy. You'll know that the last episode leaves the show on something of a romantic cliffhanger, and Star says that's likely to be a focus in upcoming episodes.
Speaking to TVLine, the creator teased where the drama between Emily, Gabriel and Cami could go. "Nothing is sort of exactly as it seems to [Emily]," he said. "And I think a lot of her ideas about life are constantly tested. And they will be next season, as well.
"What happens in the next chapter, I think, can be a real exploration of how does the relationship between these three characters evolve.
"That, to me, is such a fun thing to explore in Season 2, because these are not Americans. They're French people. To me, a big part of the show is looking at everything through a different lens. Season 2 will open up some interesting and surprising relationship avenues."
Meanwhile Camille Razat, who plays French glamazon Camille, dropped some major hints about season 2, telling PEOPLE it's going to be a big one.
"It will be a rollercoaster," she said. "It's much more complicated. There are much more emotional scenes. My character is even more important. I think season 2, it will be better than season 1, actually."
We. Can't. Wait.
What's Emily in Paris about?
The show follows Emily from her home in Chicago all the way to Paris. The move is spurred by her colleagues' refusal to transfer, so, despite speaking zero French, Emily decides to take one for the team and ships herself off overseas for adventures and excitement. Her role is to provide the "American point of view" - however, that particular point of view doesn't go down spectacularly well,
It's a chilled chick flick with fashion, romance and a lusty love triangle thrown in for good measure. What more could you want on a rainy Sunday?
