Episode 39: How Retail Has Changed Since the Pandemic
In an article from last December, Ian S. Fredericks, president and chief operating officer of Hilco Consumer — Retail and president of ReStore Capital, told WWD that consumers were under duress with stress coming from all directions, “and this can be expected to have a notable impact on retail performance. U.S. household debt continues to increase, driven primarily by mortgage, credit card and student loan balances.” Five months later, those stress factors remain. Some would argue that these are having a greater impact on spending.
In this episode, Fredericks details how the retail landscape is being impacted, and how retail has changed since the end of the pandemic.
