Dutch Fork receiver named Mr. Richland County Football Player of Year

Antonio Williams will play for a state championship on Saturday.

On Thursday, the Dutch Fork receiver was named 2021 Mr. Richland County

Williams is the first Dutch Fork play to win the award in the five-history of it. Other winners included Spring Valley’s Channing Tindall and Anthony Wilson, Hammond’s Alex Huntley and Heathwood Halll’s Ronnie Porter.

Williams was one of 17 nominees for the award, given to a senior and recognizes on and off the field achievements. The other nominees were:

Tyrell Green (AC Flora), Joshua Plush (Ben Lippen), Myles Cotten (Blythewood), Jaevon Riley (CA Johnson) John Heimes (Cardinal Newman), Randall McDaniel (Columbia), Joshua Smith (Dreher),

Jamodicus Singleton (Eau Claire), CJ Stokes (Hammond), William Morris (Heathwood Hall), Marquece Williams (Keenan), Lee Davis (Lower Richland), Deshawn Woods (Richland Northeast, Miquel Mason (Ridge View), DeQuandre Smith (Spring Valley) and Jaylin McDuffie (Westwood).

The ceremony was done virtually because of COVID-19.

Williams has been a standout the past two seasons for the Silver Foxes, who play for their sixth straight Class 5A championship on Saturday against Gaffney. The four-star prospect leads Dutch Fork with 68 catches for 1,414 yards, 18 total touchdowns and has 2,304 all-purpose yards

Williams is uncommitted but is being recruited by South Carolina, Clemson, Ole Miss and Auburn among others. He hopes to make a decision in the next few weeks.
